|  | | | | RETREAT SITE You’ll find more information about the Sedona Creative Life Center (SCLC), along with a map and accommodations suggestions on their website. Please note, that Sedona Creative Life Center and Sedona Training Associates office are located in two different locations in Sedona. Please do not get accommodations close to the office as it is about six miles away from the retreat site. TRANSPORTATION If you are flying into the area, please fly into the Phoenix Airport (PHX). Sedona is two hours north of Phoenix, so please plan your arrival and departure flights accordingly. A car is highly recommended and walking from your hotel to the retreat site is not recommended. If you’re not renting a car, there are two shuttle services from the airport in Phoenix: Please make your reservations in advance and be sure the shuttle will drop you directly at your hotel or somewhere very close by. ACCOMMODATIONS There are over 125 hotels in the Sedona area, for a listing of accommodations you can go to the Sedona Chamber of Commerce and click on “Sedona Visitor Info” and then click on “Where to Stay.” If you would like assistance in booking a room in Sedona, please call Sedona Central Reservations at 800-445-4128. They are knowledgeable about all of the hotels in Sedona and there is no charge to you for this service. Each room has a small fridge and microwave. Many restaurants are within walking distance. Prices start at $90.00 per night. | | King’s Ransom | 771 Highway 179, Sedona, AZ 928-282-7151 | A very nice two-star hotel, again just one mile away from SCLC. They offer free breakfast daily and have large rooms and pool/Jacuzzi. Restaurant on site as well as many others within walking distance. Prices start at $115 per night. | | Sky Ranch Lodge | 218 Highway 179, Sedona, AZ 928-282-7187 | This two-star hotel is located at the top of Airport Mesa and offers spectacular red rock views and sunsets. Location is about three miles from SCLC. They have pool/Jacuzzi and the Airport Restaurant is within walking distance. Prices start at $90 per night. | | Baby Quail Inn | 50 Willow Way, Sedona, AZ 928-282-2835 | This West Sedona two-star hotel is creekside with a natural/earthly ambience. Hotel is about five miles from SCLC. Close to restaurants and the local health food store. Prices start at $90 per night. | | Sedona Spring Resort | Sedona, AZ 866-469-8222 | Resort condos available in Sedona offer studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments which sleep 2-8 people. Each of these properties offers outdoor pool, hot tubs, barbeques, and fitness center. The units have air conditioning, Cable TV, VCR/DVD, full or partial kitchens, and porch or balcony. Highway 89A, Sedona, AZ 928-203-4111 | This is a three-star resort located in West Sedona, just four miles from SCLC. The property has an elegant restaurant and luxurious spa and pets are allowed to stay as well. There is a grocery store and other restaurants within walking distance. Also be sure to check their promotions before booking. Prices start at $165 per night. | | Sedona Mago Retreat | 3500 E. Bill Gray Road, Sedona, AZ 877-875-2256 | This 160-acre holistic retreat center was originally built by Lester Levenson for his home and Sedona Method trainings and now his resting place. The center was designed by one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s students and is surrounded by National Forest, with vortex energy, beautiful rooms with fridge and no TV or telephones, vegetarian meals are available, swimming pool, horseback riding and hiking. If you want to experience a secluded and rejuvenating desert setting, this is the place for you. The distance to SCLC is about 30 miles and is about a 30 minute drive one way. There is 10.8 miles of well maintained dirt road but a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended for sandy or muddy conditions. Prices start at $136 per night. If you would like to visit Lester Levenson’s sacred grave site please call the number above to advise Sedona Mago Retreat Center what time you will be arriving (I can provide you with a map on how to get to the retreat center). When you arrive they will give you a map to the grave site. Please be prepared for a one mile hike/walk. There are numerous restaurants at Tlaquepaque Plaza or in Uptown Sedona (both areas are less then half a mile from the retreat site. Food and drinks are not allowed in the retreat building, only water. The building will also be locked during the 2-hour lunch each day. WEATHER The weather in Sedona is variable. In our high desert climate, Summer can be very hot, Fall and Spring usually quite comfortable and Winter may bring snow and rain. DRESS Please dress casually. We recommend you dress in layers as the retreat room can be very warm or very cool at different times of day. | |
