How the Sedona Method Helps You in
Challenging Financial Times
How to Stop Being Afraid of Losing Everything
in These Challenging Times
by www.Sedona.com
The two top sources of stress for 80 percent of Americans are money and the state of the economy, according to the American Psychological Association’s 2008 Stress in America survey.
For many, amidst these concerns is a fear that their dwindling finances or recent unemployment will result in their losing everything: their home, retirement fund and ability to make ends meet each month. Listening to the economic forecasts does not provide much relief either, as economists are predicting that the recession may get worse before it gets better.
Already, eight out of 10 Americans are worried that the financial crisis will affect them directly, according to an AP-GfK poll. In fact, more than half of over 1,000 adults surveyed feared having to work longer in order to retire due to lost savings. Another half of respondents worried that their home’s value would be reduced over the long-term.
Meanwhile, one-third feared that the financial crisis would put their jobs at risk, while a full eight in 10 had fear that increased federal debt would be a burden for their children and grandchildren.
In short, many of us are carrying around a lot of fears due to these challenging financial times. And while it may seem impossible that you could manage or even overcome such a large source of stress, getting a handle on your fear is essential to your future.
“Whenever we focus on fear we are holding in mind that which we do not want,” says Hale Dwoskin, CEO and director of training of Sedona Training Associates. “So unless you would like to lose everything, which I'm sure you do not, it is best to let the fear go.”
“Also, whenever we're afraid, our body and mind contract and we are much less able to say, do or be what is required in order to protect ourselves and those we care about and move in a positive direction,” he continues.
How to Overcome Your Fear and Regain Your Confidence
Self-confidence and an optimistic attitude about your financial future are both requirements to achieving the success you desire. Yet, right now you likely have fears that are standing in your way.
The more you feel and focus on those fears and anxieties, such as:
The more you bring those negative thoughts into your reality. Your thoughts actually manifest into your daily life, so you need to redirect your thoughts to positive ones -- and doing this first means letting go of the negative ones, including your fears.
“The best way to release your fear is to remember first off that it is just a feeling,” Dwoskin says. “It is not a fact. It is not you. And you can let it go.”
Whenever times get tough, The Sedona Method can be your crucial support system to help you get through. As soon as you learn its process of releasing, you become able to let go of the fears that are preventing you from achieving financial security and peace of mind.
“Here are two great ways to release fear,” Dwoskin says. “The first is to simply welcome whatever you're feeling in this moment and then simply choose to let it go. The second great way to release fear is to recognize that every fear is built on a negative expectation.”
“If you ask yourself what you are afraid of happening, that is the expectation,” he continues. “Once you know what you are afraid of you can simply ask yourself, “Could I let go of the expectation or the desire for that to happen?” Both of these ways of releasing fear will have a very profound effect on your life.”
To move past your fear, you must stop resisting it and then let it go using The Sedona Method. If you’re not yet familiar with The Method, please look into it now as countless people have achieved financial security by following its process of releasing.
Especially now with the economy as it is, The Sedona Method can give you back your self-esteem and your ability to think positively about the future and your life right now.
