An Update from the Happiness Wave:
Insights from the latest Sedona Method Retreat

Much has happened since the last Sedona Method 7-Day Retreat. The lives of our participants continue to be transformed – so much so that many have returned to Sedona for subsequent retreats to permeate the fabric of their lives with an even deeper understanding of who they truly are, courtesy of The Sedona Method.
 
This happened to Elvira Byrnes of Dee Why, Australia, “I realized that I always projected the future based on my past. I now have a certain freedom from that, and I am enjoying a mental freedom being in the now. The Retreat also helped to get used to releasing on the spot and helping others to release. I am enjoying the Beingness, spaciousness, and the freedom that I am. I now look forward to my life and its experiences.”

And to John Pesak of Newark, DE, “What I have gained this week is a stronger sense of who I really am. The barriers of thought and ego are substantially thinner. Feelings Only Lie
 
The Sedona Method, with more than three decades of success and profound change behind it, continues to gain popularity. One of The Method’s tenets is that our feelings are not factual and they are not who we are.
 
 
Feelings only lie,” says Hale Dwoskin, CEO and Director of Training at Sedona Training Associates. “They tell you that you get from letting go of them what you already have from holding onto them. When you release your feelings and the false identities and you have built over the years based on these feelings, you discover the freedom that you already are.”
 
Many Retreat attendees, like Justin Dossetti of Sacramento, CA, feel that freedom from their feelings is very liberating, “Letting go of my stories brings a tremendous sense of peace and harmony. Living in the now is not only possible, but easy. As I let go of my identities, the weight of the world goes with them. This alone makes life enjoyable again instead of hard work.
 
Ellen Bok from Singapore agrees, “I look at the stories of my mind and laugh at them rather than taking them seriously and identifying with them.”

Release for the Freedom
 
One of the cornerstones of The Sedona Method is that it can free you to attract all that you desire. The Method has always done this in a very unique way by helping people to manifest their goals through dissolving rather than strengthening the ego. Instead of trying to want our goals more and forcing ourselves to think and feel a certain way, The Sedona Method teaches us to create what we want by letting go of our imaginary sense of limitation, our incessant need for more, our desire for the goal, and our attachments and aversions to the goal – in short, ego itself.

One of the greatest rewards of creating through letting go is that we also support ourselves in awakening, uncovering the freedom we already are.


 
This was evidenced by Phil Truskowski of Las Vegas, Nevada. “At first I didn’t think anything was happening. During Day 2, I realized I was sitting in Beingness and everything was flowing. I have never felt this good before. I went through my goals and knew they would all work out. I went through the things that were bothering me and I have no charge on them anymore, or at least in this moment; and life is just a series of moments. I am really enjoying the quiet.”

And echoed by Andrea Zaccardi, from Rome, Italy. “This Retreat gave me peace, happiness and knowingness that my life is already great; so full of life and riches. By applying the techniques of The Sedona Method, I was really able to see that achieving my goals or not is ‘much ado about nothing.’”

Sharon Perkins of Concord, NH put it most succinctly, “Release for the freedom, not the goal!”

Physical Freedom

While The Sedona Method is not intended to treat, diagnose, or cure any illness, it can be used in conjunction with any type of treatment – traditional or otherwise. Participants credited The Method with freedom from a variety of physical ailments.
I used to have night cramps in my legs three to 10 times a night,” reports Jennifer Gait of Victoria, Canada. “Since starting the method I have not had one night cramp.”

Ray Preisler of Forest Hills, NY says, “I had an injury which resulted in my left thigh being numb; this is about 80% improved since the Retreat began.”

Others have used releasing to control their weight: “Now when I’m tempted to have a desert or snack, I release before choosing whether or not to eat it.” Cathy Hull, Wateruliet, NY.
